33 - Week 5 3ieme: Try Plunging - Geneve
Wednesday, March 26
Today was a good day, involving a lot of emails being sent out asking if people would be open to me visiting to talk with them 😆 to my surprise, one person said they were available in the afternoon and so I had a short your of a part of the plant I hadn't realized even existed! It's tucked away in a corner of the plant and I think it was constructed after my visit in 2019, so it took a bit of wandering to find my way over.
After work, I had to make good on one of the ideas I'd floated to coworkers: to do a polar bear plunge in Lac Leman. One of them had forwarded an event to me that was specifically for people swimming in the refreshing lake this evening: and I if didn't swim tonight, I don't foresee myself taking the opportunity in the future. So I put on my suit, made my way to the Bains des Pâquis, and took my dip!
Someone had mentioned 1 minute per Deg C as a good rule of thumb, so I managed to stay in for 8 minutes
After drying off, I waited shivering in line to order a fondue and some mulled wine, but it was totally worth it. I'm ready to say that the Bains des Pâquis must have the best fondue in the city, and if you order anything in addition to your fondue, you can pay by card! The line is intimidating at first, but hang in there, the experience is worth it!
