17 - Week 3 1iere: Lacy, gently wafting... - Geneva
Monday, March 10
Boy, I am tired. I made it into the office at 7:10 so I could make it into a lab to watch them start a reaction.
While stopping by my office to pick up PPE (as it's called in French, EPI), I figured I'd depose more of my American candies for the engineering team. Today marked the return of the last two who'd been away for work and medical reasons, so why not break out some fresh supplies. I received a compliment later about how I'd arranged it; maybe I've watched too many episodes of Hannibal and have developed too much attention to presentation now...
After lunch, my coworker offered to show me around a part of the plant I haven't been to yet and I got stung by a gueppe (wasp/yellow jacket) while visiting control room. Putain, ça pique!
It was "rideaux" (curtains) for me when I made it home. I could barely stay awake standing and ended up taking a short 20-minute snooze on the couch while waiting for the laundry to run its cycle. I'd planned to attend a science presentation on bio-nanopores at the University of Geneva, but had left work too late and was entirely too tired to participate in the cocktail hour that would follow.
